3 days left... again (I think I was off in my counting!)

Sorry Kelly, I know you are tired of the Paris stuff, but I have to keep my countdown going, even if I was off on my counting. I actually wasn't off, I was going off my computers countdown, so it was off! Who knows! Either way I am getting super-de-duper excited!

Coco Chanel

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only, it is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." - Coco Chanel

Ok, so I am patently waiting for the real Coco Chanel movie to come out, but in the meantime Lifetime has created a move about Chanel, staring Shirley MacLaine! This will help hold me over! It is a must watch for everyone! The reason fashion is the way it is today is because of this amazing women! It airs on lifetime on September 13th!

Eye Stye Warning!

Ok, please listen up ladies! Maybe you are already familiar with eye styes, but I wasn't so I have to assume most people aren't! I had heard of them, but had no idea they could be so problematic. My original stye started way back in June, right before my birthday... this thing was horrible looking, my eyelid was all swollen and gross. I went to the doc to see if there was anyway to get rid of it prior to my bid day. He gave me antibiotics and some cream for it. For some crazy reason it did go away for my b-day.... but came back with revenge a few days later! Not only was my lid swollen, my entire face from cheek bone to brow bone was swollen. My eye was this tiny sliver.. so not cute. Well, finally it went away, but left behind  hard bump where it had been, which totally changed the shape of that one eyelid. A few weeks ago at a normal eye exam the doctor looked at it and said they could remove it but if it didn't bother me it was fine to leave there. WELL two days after that visit it flared up AGAIN! Now this time it formed this pimple like thing... gross I know! Finally it did burt on its own (I was doing at least 4 hot compresses a day!) but now I have this weird wound looking thing on my lid.. once again sooo not cute! They say it could take a few weeks to completely heal! Worst of all, I can't wear ANY eye makeup until it has healed! Who knew this could be such a production? So bottom line is this... every night (no matter how tired you are) you need to remove ALL your eye make-up and clean around your eye area as well! These horrible little things are caused by clogged oil glands on your lash line!  Also, they suggest changing out your mascara a little more often than normal, since sooo much bacteria lives in a tube. Trust me, you don't want one of these... and from what I have read, once you get them you are more apt to get them again!

4 more days!

This is my second favorite place in Paris, The Tracadero! It is such a beautiful place to view the Eiffel tower.  Last year, after a long night out, I went just as the sun was starting to come up. Being that it is soooo early, there was no one else there, so for a brief moment it felt like the Eiffel tower belonged to me!

5 more days!

This doesn't need much of an introduction.... it is the Moulin Rouge! Sadly you cannot take cameras inside, but the decorations are fantastic!

6 more days!

Who doesn't love candy, especially Parisian candy!? I took this picture on my trip to Paris last year. Sabrina and I happened to stumble upon this street fair, and this adorable confiserie stand... too cute! I can't wait!

8 more days!

Annalise asked me to post what I felt was the most iconic image of Paris. Of course I chose la Tour Eiffel (Eiffel Tower as we call it) ! As much as I love the eiffel tower, I enjoy it most from a far. I love walking through the city and catching just the top of it over a building. So here is my pic for most iconic Parisian image! Hope you enjoy!

Slow Down

Hey! So, this is my first post. I wanted to create some sort of "theme" for my blog, but figured I would just blog about the fun, crazy, interesting, random things that happen in my life! A while ago I read "Eat Pray Love"... amazing! I suggest for everyone to go read it. Well, anyway in the book she mentions that she keeps a journal everyday of something special that happened that made her smile! So I will try to do the same everyday here on my blog. Today it was just a really simple thing... I was rushing to get to my car too busy to look at the world around me and just as I was about to climb into my car I noticed these beautiful flowers that had fallen from the tree above! Something so simple helped me realize I needed to slow down and just enjoy life!
